Description

Salter (formerly Charles Salter and Associates) holds a 45-year legacy of award-winning projects in acoustics, audiovisual, telecommunications, and security. They consult on over 900 projects a year worldwide including Walt Disney Concert Hall, Stanford’s Children’s Hospitality Services, Pinterest’s headquarters, the De Young Museum, and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) Conservatory, just to name a few. We worked closely with Charles and Salter’s marketing team to design an artful and distinctive brand for the firm that will be used across signage, collateral, web, and print.

A brand inspired by the Kinetic Art Movement

The concept behind the new brand drew inspiration from a few of Charles Salter’s favorite artists including Alexander Calder, Yaacov Agam, and Jean Arp. It was important to him to keep the primary colors of the existing brand, so we explored that color palette with a variety of new forms that represent sound, vibration, and transmission graphically.

It didn’t take long to realize Adrienne is truly a branding expert. Her approach, guidance, and creativity helped us get to the core of not just what we wanted but needed to transform our existing logo into a modern, sophisticated brand. The new look and feel were well received throughout our 45-year-old firm, quite a feat! Adrienne is a joy to work with and embodies the perfect blend of empathy and creativity.

It’s not often clients invest in letterpress printing firm-wide, Charles Salter did.

The name cards were printed on a beautiful 130# Strathmore Ultimate White wove cover. We used a pearlescent foil to echo the shapes of the logo on both the stationary and back of the name card. The shapes also serve as a digital watermark throughout all of the templates.
